"Poor communication, unreliable service, and an unwillingness to own up to mistakes: After noticing that I wasn't billed on the 1st of the month as per usual, I called Mr. Chad Smith's office. I was reassured that my policy was in good standing and that I would simply be billed twice the following month. This guarantee was well documented including a voicemail. However, the following week, State Farm called back to inform me that my insurance had actually been terminated, and that I had been driving around without insurance for over two weeks based on false information they gave me! I asked to speak to Mr. Chad Smith over the phone to address my situation. I was very polite but was instantly dismissed and did not receive an apology. I sought new insurance with urgency, but the lapse in insurance made finding new insurance very difficult. I explained this over the phone, and Mr. Smith claimed that the insurance agencies I inquired with were "lying" to me because "the lapse wasn't even that long." I asked for an olive branch, that they at least reimburse my Uber/Lyft ride to work—as I stopped driving immediately when I discovered I was uninsured despite the insurance office's false reassurance. They would not cover any of the expenses I occurred as a direct result to their mistake. I understand that mistakes happen, and I give people the benefit of the doubt when they do. I approach these kinds of situations with empathy rather than hostility. That said, I run a business of my own, and when I make a mistake, I own up to it. I would never push the consequences of my own mistakes onto my customers or clients. State Farm's mistake put me at great risk and was incredibly disruptive to my life, mentally taxing, and entirely avoidable. Worse, zero accountability was taken and no apology or compensation was offered by Mr. Smith. The other staff members I spoke to were kind and apologetic, but lacked the authority to offer me the help I needed. For these reason, I cannot in good conscience recommend this office to anyone looking for reliable coverage."
